Answering your questions

Filed under: answering your questions — Chris @ 8:09 am

The question:

Once all the necessary Handipoints have been deposited into the goal – How do you show the goal has been achieved and the reward redeemed?

The answer:

(If you are not sure how many handipoints have been earned, first click on the balance sheets tab. That will give you the number of handipoints and bonus points that have been earned.)

To deposit the handipoints toward a goal click on the Savings Goal tab up at the top. That will pull up whatever your children are saving for. Click on the item you want to put the points toward.

Then you will be told how many handipoints it is going to cost and how many you still need to earn the reward.

Deposit the number that you want to put toward that particular reward.

As you deposit points into your goal, the bar goes up relative to your total deposit amount. Once the child has fulfilled the goal or reached 100%, then there is an understanding that you will “redeem” the goal for your child.

So after you have done that, how do you show that it has been earned and redeemed? I am assuming that you mean is there some sort of fanfare, like a certificate, or a video, or fireworks shooting out of your monitor or a skywriter driving by your house and writing “HURRAY!” in the sky? Personally I’d like a mariachi band to come by and play on my front lawn and hand ME a margarita.

The answer though is no.

Once the child has “redeemed” the goal, you can delete the goal from the savings goal list. When you delete a savings goal, the deposits and withdrawals on that goal are not deleted. Therefore the record of the child spending points on the goal remain in tact and you are free to create more goals for the child to work towards.

Does that help? Any more questions? Bring ‘em on.

And you know, if you have anything that you DO like, please feel free to share that too :-)
