Schedules..
I homeschool last year was our first year… my oldest has special needs and my lil one has Adhd and the middle one has her own issues being wedged between them… They are 11,9 and 5. I love the handipoints because it is a way of motivating them without needing tons of lil stickers:P But I want a beeter scedule for school days this year last year I just went by the seat of my pants. But with the lil one starting K and the middle one struggling with certian subjects and the oldest starting middle school level work. I really don’t want things missed in the Cirrc. the SD were at is Big on wanting to see what they did for the year in the portfolios and the evaulators were relulant to even approve me HS my oldest… Any ideas please help..

I can’t do schedules. I know moms who have every moment accounted for but not me. I am more of the laid back mom. My kids do know that during school they have to come home and do homework and their chores and after that we are pretty much onto dinner and then whatever happens happens.

Hey Chris, How did you go with your schedule? As we are close to beginning homeschooling, I’d love to see yours, especially as you have been homeschooling for quite a few years now.
I am LOST as to where to start, and am sure to fumble through, lol

Chris you have read my mind. I have been searching the internet looking for schedules that I can use in our home. I even printed out a schedule of a homeschooler, but it was much too stringent for me. I’m hoping you or someone else on these boards has one that I can easily follow.

I am a routine person more than a schedule person. I am just weird that way, I do better in my particular groove. Parts of the day it’s almost predictable to the minute (getting out of the house and to work/sitters/school is a tight window of time).

Part of making my routine go smoothly is to have accomplished a short-list of things before I get to bed at night (cleanup kitchen and common areas, make sure there are clothes for everyone to wear) and there’s also a Sunday-night checklist that I follow and a “night before garbage day” checklist (cleaning out litter boxes, gathering recycling… exciting).

Sched… schedu… schedule? What is this thing of which you speak?

Here’s my question, if you have a schedule, do you REALLY follow it? That’s my problem. I think i’m too rebellious… I’m all, “oh, the schedule says it’s time for dishes, does it?? Well, I’m not going to let some freaking schedule dictate the way I live my life!”

sigh. And I wonder why my kids don’t listen to me.

I don’t do schedules. I’ve tried. Believe me I’ve tried, but schedules just do not work for me. I wish they did, however, I’ve come to terms with my “fly by the seat of your pants” kinda ways and somehow, someway everything gets done.
