Follow Up

A follow-up to the story I mentioned two posts down.

The mother was arrested and charges were filed against her.   For 97 days she awaited trial and obviously had to hire an attorney to represent her.  Attorneys are not cheap.  Not to mention the emotional toll this ordeal must have taken on the family.

The charges were dropped in court when  the prosecutor said that there was not enough evidence to proceed in the case.  And yet the police officer says that he is disappointed that she was not punished.  Ummmm, because there are not any dangerous criminals to spend tax dollars on?

  1. Unbelievable that it went that far.

  2. Maybe they’re like the police from my home town, who are so bored out of their skulls during the non-tourist season that (even though we’re in the northeast), they fit the classic “evil southern sheriff” mold.

  3. Unbelievable. There are far worse people the police could have been focusing on that her. I’m glad the charges were dropped. But, please.
