My children are absolutely in love with the new features over at Handiland. When I logged them on the first time after the changes had gone into effect and they saw other cats walking around, they were so excited.
The chat feature is perfect for those beginning reader ages or those who take forever and a day to type. There is a drop down menu of preselected phrases and sentences. My 7 and 8 yr old sons were able to chat with other cats saying things like “Hello.” “You are a cool cat!” and the like.
My daughter immediately latched onto, “I like your shoes.”
They all enjoyed seeing what the other cats were wearing. One cat that was walking around swinging a golf club was particularly funny to them.
So tell me, do your kids love the new Handiland features? What is their favorite part?

Oh wow, did I miss something? My kids will be thrilled T-H-R-I-L-L-E-D, I tell you, if they can interact with other cats!

p.s. How do you get 4 cute, related kids to gather around a computer with only ONE child’s hand on the controls?? Please, do share the secret.

I found this website because I was looking for preprinted charts. I think this site has a lot of perks for both parents and children. It has the possibility to teach children that doing your chores can be very meaningful. My boys told me this morning that this is so much more fun then just checking off a list. I would agree. I would have loved to have this when I was their age!

Hi everyone! I just found this today and I am thrilled! I only wonder how to introduce this to my 5 yr old (turning six in March) clear enough for him to understand it. Any ideas are welcome!

Hi everyone! I just found this site by chance, and have fallen in love with it! I have a 9 and a 4 yr old. I just got to my braking point with my children when I would ask them to pick this or that up or clean this or that, the reply would always be, “well I didn’t make the mess why should I clean it?” GRRRRRRRR! That just gets me! I tried the, well who wears your clothes, but I still have to wash them…etc., They just looked at me like well you are the mom! So I wanted to start a chore list and was trying to find a really cool chart and I found this site. Love It! They both were really crying and wineing about chores and the youngest even cried himself to sleep. LOL But after I found this site and showed them they did everything that We charted for them in like a breeze and said, “mom that wasn’t to bad.” We might have a plan.

I found the site last night while looking for a chores chart for my 4 (almost 5, yikes!) and 6 1/2 year olds. They have always bucked me on doing chores and I just couldn’t find anything that would make them WANT to cooperate. I set up their lists while they were sleeping and showed it to them this morning. After some comprimising and tweaking of the charts, I now have 2 kids who are willing to work on their chores!! I even set up the savings goals for them and they were thrilled! This site is a god-send for moms like me who are trying to teach their kids responsibilites and still stay the “cool” and not “slave-driver” mom! LOL

I need help. I have been on handipoints since Friday and although my kids are doing their chores w/o being murdered first, I have two kids that have rewards to redeem and I don’t know how to do it..can someone help me??? Please, before I lose momentum?

Hi you click on the item you are cashing in for and then it will take your points away as you do this. We actually just cash them in and I take them to the store or the movies and have them pay after we take it off of the savings goal plan. It will walk you right through.

I just found this site a few days ago and just wanted to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to whoever created it!! I have two girls – ages 10 & 11. Both have gone nuts trying to do more chores to get more points. We actually have company coming this weekend so I made yesterday “double points day” where I awarded every chore with double handipoints and they actually argued over who got to do the most chores so they could earn the most points. I give them a choice between earning money and earning rewards and it’s been so satisfying watching them actually want to work hard to earn things. Just had to share. Thanks again!!!

My kids and I really love handiland. There are only two issues I have.
1. My kids (ages 7, 9, and 11) would love to be able to do more chatting. It kills them to want to say or ask something that’s not already programmed into the chat option.
2. I can’t figure out how to start my own thread or topic here in the parent’s forum! I noticed that a lot of other parents have had this same issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
