		<description>I remember eading something once that said NOT to let the children know you were under a financial strain, because they might be stressed!  I say phooey, as long as you don&#039;t harp on it.  My parents didn&#039;t have much when I was growing up, and they were honest about what they could and could not afford.  

I knew I could pine for big-ticket items, but it was pointless to ask, because they truly could not buy it.  I had a rough idea of what COULD be asked for.  As long as the parents are honest about it (don&#039;t say you can&#039;t afford it, then turn around and buy it or some other big-ticket foo-foo item the next week).</description>
