Decorate Your Cat House

Filed under: Children, Just For Fun, Making It Work, using handipoints — Chris @ 9:07 am

My kids are very excited by this newest item at Handipoints:

empty-house

A house to decorate!

kitty-house

And a whole new catalog to chose items from!

My kids even asked for MORE chores so that they could buy more things for their cat houses.

What about your kids?

I had a fun idea. You notice over on the sidebar there are random “featured” cats, what about featuring some of our cat rooms? Send me a screen shot (email to: thebyh @ yahoo dot com, remove spaces and replace dot with “.” obviously) of your child’s cat room and I will put up a post, probably later on this week or next week showing off those mad decorating skillz. Maybe it will inspire your kids to do some more chores. We can always hope, right?

  1. My kids are enjoying decorating their houses, but are having trouble with some parts. How do they get rid of an item if they accidently bought it? Also, what are the “keys” for that are next to some of the items? Some items have a “price” and others have a key. I tried to click on the help button, but it wasn’t working….

  2. HI Sara! They earn so many Handipoints to earn keys. The keys are in the Savings Goal tab. It is the parents who actually pay for them through Amozon Checkout, though. The prices aren’t overly pricey. My kids love it!!

  3. I have become disappointed with Handipoints.
First points were lowered for most of the pre written chores. Now a cat can only get so many in 10 days. If they go over, then they don’t get any points for a few days. I find this to do the opposite of motivate.
Also, more and more things are becoming something that has to be bought with money. Even if each key is not much, it gets expensive quickly.
My kids have pretty much quit using the game at all.

  4. My kids are upset that a new home catalog came out and they can’t finish decorating the room they were working on…not that they don’t like new choices, but my son had his heart set on his cool car room. He worked hard cleaning and behaving all week.

As parents, could we not have had some sort of warning to prevent upset kids who earned the room and now can’t buy it with the points they earned.
