My children and I love watching American Idol. My husband not so much. He tolerates it but given the choice, he wouldn’t be watching it.
There are so few shoes on television now-a-days that families can watch together (though I will admit that there have been a few times that I hastily pushed the FF button on our tivo because the things they were showing or discussing were not appropriate for my younger children)
Anyway, we are looking forward to tonight. I will shut down my laptop at 8:00 pm and we will all watch and start to pick our favorites. Some nights I even make popcorn. It is fun. It reminds me of watching the Sonny and Cher show or Donnie and Marie when I was a little kid.
What about your family? Are there any shows that you enjoy watching all together?

Extreme Makeover Home Edition on Sunday nights is our family’s favorite show. Before the show begins my two boys build their own “house” out of blocks and they conduct their own demolition simultaneously with the one on the show. About 1.5yrs ago the show came to Raleigh and my husband took our eldest son to go see the construction site and all the activities. He loved it and despite the cold temps stayed all day watching all the construction equipment going back and forth. He even got to meet some of the cast and has a pair of work gloves signed by “Ed” – the guy with the English accent.

Survivor. We tivo it so we can watch it with the kids during the day. They love the challenges and even pick favorites to win. It’s fun watching them yell “Go Yao Min”.

We watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy together–my 3 year old is learning her letters so she especially loves calling out the letters that Vanna turns around. And we do watch American Idol, too, although she usually falls asleep about 20 minutes into it.

Our family watches American Idol also. This past Tuesday the girls (3 of them) decided to bring out the microphones, and guitar to have their own auditions during commercials. Extreme Home Makeover Edition is another family fav. Popcorn anyone?

I had no idea wheel of fortune is still on! I may have to check that out.
We used to like watching Amazing Race, but sort of lost track of it.

we just started watching American Idol with our 5th grader – she loves it. Plus since we are musicians we have fun discussions about what the singers are doing right and wrong, along with how they handle criticism, and about working hard to accomplish your dreams. Our other family favorite is Americas funniest home videos. It’s important to laugh & have fun together!

Sorry, I am new and don’t know how to start a new subject to post. I wondered what the stamp collections are for. What’s the end result if you get a collection? Thanks!
