yall should have it were people can make there on chore charts for there kids that are 6-9 and kids that are 10-12 bucause my kids need one and one is 12 and the other is 18 the 12 years old cleans the 18 year old dose nothing

Also check your local libraries and art council for summer kids programs. They often put on child plays or movies based of a book to support the arts. My library hosts a movie night once a month on a children’s book, and the art council host a free “playlet”.

In the winter I check out the local malls for kids events. I also check the parks and rec programs for my town and neighboring areas for events. It’s amazing what you can find. These are fun educational events like maple syrup tours and snow tracks to paper mache and heritage weeks.

I have often looked for free things to do with the kids. They often bring friends and fill the van. hey, it’s free, why not?

Some theatres have a reading program. Our AMC theatre will offer a free kids pak if the child/parent fills out the book sheet. The kids have to put down 3 books and why they liked it. We keep loads of the forms in the car for “emergency” stops to the movies!

10 am is early in the summer??? I need to live in your house! I have 5 kids and NONE of them sleep past 7. Oh why can’t I have normal children who like to sleep??? On the subject of the free movies, I think that many theaters do it for no other reason than to get you in to buy their food. But I do have many a friend who has said that the free movie deal can be a saving grace on a rainy summer day. Maybe one day I’ll actually brave it – though I think that my 7 month old and 21 month old may be my demise…

Consolidated theatres does it also, on Tuesday – Thursday. http://www.consolidatedmovies.com/kids_movie.asp

the ones in our area are free, with $1 popcorn and $1 drinks. I am going to try to make the effort to take them this week to see Happy Feet. 10 am is early in the summer, though

I am in the middle of nowhere and neither AMC or Regal has a theatre in my STATE! (ugh!) But, I did search my local (two) theaters’ sites and found that they too are offering this summer movie deal. So it may be worth a look..

Our theaters do a discount morning movie but not free. Thanks for reminding me. I guess we could make the effort at least once this summer.
