a.k.a. How much togetherness and family “fun” can one one family really stand? The answer of which seems to be about five minutes less than we are currently up to at this moment.

We are outside in the front yard cleaning up the front porch, deciding which outside toys can be donated or headed for the big playroom in the sky, a.k.a. the landfill, when we smell skunk stink.  We have had a skunk coming around the neighborhood in recent weeks.  He must be friends with the bear raccoons.  I swear sometimes I feel as though I am living in my own Nature Kingdom show.

So we are standing around sniffing the air, trying to decide where the smell is coming from.

My 8 yr old walks out the front door.  He stands proudly between my husband and I and says, “I just love the smell of summer.”

We all look at him and before I can say anything my 4 yr old pipes up, “That’s not summer.  It’s called a skunk.”

Skunk, summer, whatever.
